Your data
Delete your account and data
You can delete your account and everything stored with it at any time, from inside the app or by emailing us. This page explains exactly how, what gets deleted, and how long it takes.
The fastest route: delete your account from inside the app you used — the option is in Settings, and deletion begins immediately. If you no longer have the app installed, use the email request route below instead.
1. Delete from inside the app
Every app that stores an account offers self-serve deletion. You do not need to contact us, and you do not need an active subscription.
Bommi
- Open Bommi and go to Settings.
- Tap Cloud Sync.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
- For security, Apple or Google may ask you to sign in again to prove the account is yours.
Tochi, Fosia and Bavi
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Open Account.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm.
- Sign in again if prompted, so we can verify the request came from you.
Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted we cannot recover your entries, records or backups. If you want to keep a copy, export it first — in Fosia, use Care summary to export a report before you delete.
Deleting your account removes your cloud data. The copy stored locally on your own device is under your control: delete the app's local data from within the app, or uninstall the app, to remove that copy too.
2. Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app, cannot sign in, or would rather we handle it, email us and we will delete your account for you.
Send to: hippo@lazyhippodev.com
Subject: Account deletion request
Please include:
• Which app (Tochi, Bommi, Fosia or Bavi)
• The email address or sign-in method on the account
• Whether you also want your Instagram or Facebook interaction data removed
Send the request from the email address associated with the account where you can. If you cannot, we will ask you for other information to verify that the account is yours — we do this to stop someone else from deleting your data. We will not ask you for your password.
We acknowledge requests within 5 business days and complete them within 30 days.
3. Instagram and Facebook data
If you have commented on our posts or sent us a direct message on Instagram or Facebook, we may hold your username, profile picture and the content of that interaction, as described in section 5 of our Privacy Policy. To have it deleted:
- Email hippo@lazyhippodev.com with the subject Meta data deletion request.
- Tell us your Instagram or Facebook username so we can find the interactions. We do not need your password or any account credentials.
- We locate and delete the comments, messages and any derived records we hold that are linked to that username, and confirm by reply.
We complete Meta data deletion requests within 30 days and confirm in writing when it is done.
Revoking our access
If you connected an Instagram account to our Meta app, you can revoke that access yourself at any time:
- Instagram: Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites → remove Lazy Hippo Development.
- Facebook: Settings & privacy → Settings → Apps and websites → remove Lazy Hippo Development.
Revoking access immediately stops any further data flowing to us. It does not by itself delete what we already hold, so send the deletion request above as well if you want that removed.
Deleting content on Meta's side
Comments and messages also exist in your own Instagram or Facebook account and in Meta's systems. We can only delete our copy. To remove Meta's copy, delete the comment or conversation in the Instagram or Facebook app, or use Meta's Accounts Center.
4. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we remove:
- Your authentication account and sign-in identifiers.
- Your email address and any profile details you gave us.
- All cloud-stored content for that account — journal entries and moods, habit records and check-ins, pet profiles, uploaded vet documents and the values extracted from them, expenses, health metrics, routines, tasks and focus sessions.
- Your cloud backups.
- Your membership of any shared profile, and any invite codes you issued.
- Support correspondence linked to the account, on request.
- Meta-derived records linked to you, where you ask for that under section 3.
5. What we have to keep
A small amount of data survives deletion, either because the law requires it or because it is no longer linked to you:
| Data | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Purchase and transaction records | Required by Korean tax and accounting law. Held by Apple, Google and RevenueCat as well as us | Up to 5 years |
| Aggregated, anonymised analytics | Contains no identifier that can be traced back to you and cannot be un-aggregated | Indefinitely |
| Encrypted operational backups | Rolling disaster-recovery snapshots that expire on their own cycle | Up to 30 days |
| Records of a legal claim or abuse report | Needed to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim | As long as necessary for that purpose |
| Content shared onto a profile you do not own | Records another caregiver added to their own pet profile remain theirs | Until that owner deletes them |
Data stored locally on your own device is not affected by account deletion. Delete the app's local data or uninstall the app to remove it.
6. How long it takes
| Route | Starts | Fully complete |
|---|---|---|
| In-app deletion | Immediately on confirmation | Live systems at once; backups within 30 days |
| Email request | Acknowledged within 5 business days | Within 30 days |
| Meta data deletion request | Acknowledged within 5 business days | Within 30 days |
7. Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a paid subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so you must cancel yours separately or it will keep renewing.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → select the app → Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → select the app → Cancel.
Cancel before you delete your account, so you still have access to the app while you do it. Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies — see section 8 of our Terms.
8. Contact
If a deletion request has not been handled, or you have a question about what we hold, write to us and we will sort it out.
